Ken wants Barbie back...

It's true. There is a new digital campaign by Mattel to rejoin the once thought soul mates, Barbie and Ken.

And Ken wants her back...BAD.

After the controversial split back on Valentines' Day 2004, the two went their seperate ways and Barbie has even been seen around town with the likes of this guy... Steve...

Call me crazy, but has Steve ever held down a job besides surfing?

Ken is doing everything he can...like posting billboards all over LA...

He's even taken to his Facebook and Twitter pages to win her back!

Barbie is having a hard time deciding though. She too  has been posting about this decision on Facebook and Twitter, with statements like, "This whole Ken things has me feeling completely confused. He's made it no secrete that he wants to get back together, but is it the right decision? Advice needed." and "Ken seems to be everywhere I turn. Driving to the airport and I see a billboard with him on it...again! What's a doll to do?"

I say GO FOR IT BARBIE...after all...I'm sorry, but lately Ken is looking goooooddd...

Now, if we were throwing Jacob in the mix...this might be a different story....heehee

Oh OH!

So what do you think? Should Barbie take Ken back? VOTE NOW!

What is the Internet?

1994.

Do you remember life before the Internet?

Check out this video from January, 1994 with Bryant Gumbel and Katie Couric talking about "@" signs and the Internet.

Sweet Polaroid Memories - Poladroid Application

Who doesn't love Polaroids? I remember a friend of mine growing up had one and I was always so jealous! Now I have my own...and it sits on my desktop...well my virtual desktop that is! :)

It's the FREE Poladroid Application!!

Check out how easy it is to use!!

First I open the Poladroid application...it looks like a little Polaroid on my desktop...see I told ya!

Then I select my picture and drag and drop it on the Poladroid application window!

Then Poladroid works it's magic!

And then out pops my photo...it makes the Polaroid noise and everything!!! Look, you can even see our faces starting to appear, like on a real Polaroid!

Then it dings to let you  know it's done and waahhhlaaa!

I then took it a step further and opened up my much loved Photoshop Elements <3 to add some handwriting type to the bottom, like you would normally see as a label on a Polaroid!

Then you have your photo!!

Don't you just LOVE it!!! I know it's one of my new favorite applications!! And FREE to boot! Go check it out!! Poladroid.net

Here are a few other cute ones I made...

 Have you downloaded it yet?!!?!
 Enjoy!!!

I'm going to be cliche...

I'm makin' resolutions...

SHIZAM.

yep...a list of goals...not so much resolutions...albeit it is that time of year and the definition of resolution means:
Aformal expression of opinion or intention made, usually after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group.

A resolve or determination: to make a firm resolution to do something.
The act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc.
The mental state or quality of being resolved or resolute; firmness of purpose.
The act or process of resolving or separating into constituent or elementary parts.

A solution, accommodation, or settling of a problem, controversy, etc.
So take your pick, I am doing it...and here are some of my goals:
  • Join Weight Watchers again?
  • Start a friendly weight loss competition with some friends...we all need to have our butts kicked right ladies?
  • Exercising. blechhh.
  • Start couponing, but not all super crazy-like

  • Go to bed earlier.

  • Eat breakfast...everyday.
  • Come Springtime...hit my Photography business hard!
  • Get knocked up. :)
  • Get crafty-er
  • Sew more
Gosh,I have more...but I won't bore you with all the details...

...and no it has nothing to do with the fact that if I fail, no one but me will know because you didn't even know I had it as a resolution...

Yeah, so I am NO where near CLOSE to being done...but here's to 2011 and kicking my BUTT into gear!!

    I don't like you...

This just made me giggle when I saw it last week...so I had to share...especially now after I just had this jerk-face of a salesman come in and try and guilt me into buying water bottle service for our office.

I'm just not sure how else to say, "We are fine in the water department and we don't need your services, k, thanks, bye."

    He just wasn't getting it.

So much so that he thought saying, "Well, you know as Americans we should really find cheaper ways to benefit from the clean drinking water we have. We have it and we shouldn't pay alot for it, and I think that's what your office is doing with the plan you have now."

Really dude...you're gonna pull the people in the world have dirty water to drink card when trying to sell me your overpriced water bottle service?

Get a life...oh, and he smelled like Big Red and cigarettes too. Great combo Sales-Jerk.

Pssshhhh. I don't like you...and your old cigarette sellin' ways aren't going to fly with me...

Did that go the way you thought it was gonna go?

    Christmas Card heroes.

I probably already have, but let me introduce you to one of my FAV photog blogs that I follow...Bobbi and Mike.

They are not officially my Christmas Card heroes.

Check out their cards from years past...

    2007

    2008

    and 2009

Well for this years card, they went the awkward family photo route...and boy did it pay off! If you haven't been to or heard of that site...you are missing. Stop reading and go now...it will make the following photos that much more...high-larious!

    Go now...! I'll wait....

    .....

    You back?

    Ok...check it...this is SO great!!

Seriously, I nearly peed my pants. You need to go check out their blog and see all the photos larger...it's SO worth it.

So...warning to Husby...next year...it's SO ON...our Christmas Card needs to be THIS epic.

And to those of you still waiting on your Christmas card from us...giggle, shuffling feet, giggle...well my hospital stay got in the way, then I was over it, then I remember that free cards shouldn't be wasted, then I decided to compile the cards together with a whamo-bamo-New-Years card and waaahhhllaaa. So you can expect to see it soon-ish with some wonderful New Years love thrown in for good measure :)

And remember...when you are planning your next Christmas photo...find the biggest wreath you can, stand behind it and S M I L E...

    How would I spend...

    $1000?

Gosh. So...if I had no debt that cried out to be paid off with the $1000...here's how I would spend it.

    First off:
I would get the Silhouette SD. I want one so badly...but it's like too big for a once at a time purchase with a holiday or just everyday...

See...this would set me back $299.99.

Oh and I would need some rolls of vinyl and some of the other fun stuff to go along with it...
Maybe 3 rolls of vinyl $23.97

Two rolls of heat transfer paper $30.00
The Magnet paper is pretty sweet $9.99
    There goes another $63.96

Then I would want to set aside at least $300 for some updates to my wardrobe. Including new bras.

Don't even get me started on how much the good ones cost and how much I am willing to pay...it's a sickness really, but I can't help it!

Then I want to purchase my night stands from IKEA to complete my bedroom suite.

    There goes $119.98.

So then, gosh let's see I have $216.07 left...

I think there is a part of my that really wants to buy a dress-form. So I can make my own dresses, skirts and shirts.

So there I am looking at around $125 if I got it on the cheap.

Now, I would love to find a good pair of cute boots that fit my ever so muscular/big calves, and that looked good on it.

Those would probably set me back about $65, after doing a quick search for prices.

So I am left with $26.07. And I really didn't account for taxes, shipping, etc. So all my money is spent.

And I am sure if you asked me on another day I could probably come up with a TON of other things I wanted to spend $1000 on.

But for today...how would YOU spend $1000? Go ahead post it and link back to this post so I can see!

    Once upon a time...

There was a girl who wanted to make a sweet snack for her Husby...

    So she added the ingriedients...

She went to her favorite tool...

    ...and she mixed, mixed, mixed.

She followed directions...and put the yummy goodness in the cupcake wrappers...

    ...dropped in the special bonus...

    She baked them all up...

and showered them with homemade icing and chocolate chips...

In her excitement, she anticipated her sweet Husby's return home to try the special treat...

    He opened the treat...

and he took a big 'ol bite...she held her breath for the results...

She peeked through her squinted eyes to see the sweet-toothed-response, but it was not what she expected to see...

"Something is missing!" says her oh so-sweet Husby...

and sure enough, something was amiss. She had worried that this sweet treat had fallen short her goal to please the tastebuds of her lifelong love...but this only saddened her more. The sweet treat, and the bonus inside had failed to return the response that she wanted.

she may have sulked for just a moment before being swept up with encouraging words from her Husby.

Maybe she will try again soon to please the tummy of her Husby...but for now she chose to rest her feet and thank her Husby trying taking the risk to try her treat...

    Better luck next time :)

    Cute Ad.

Kitties are cute. And fluffy. But I am allergic.

So I enjoy them from afar....or in Ads like this Ikea Ad.

    Very creative.

    No cell phones please.

I posted this on Facebook, but I figured I would share it here too...with the people I love the most.

"So. I work with lovely people, I really do. But one in particular...well...he must really like it around my desk. He eats his breakfast up here, he wanders up to look out my windows, he used to read the newspaper up here...but today...takes the cake. He is talking on his cellphone right at the counter in front of my desk. Seriously?
(face blurred to protect the identity of said co-worker...heehee)"

    *sigh*

    Memories...

In the planning of our "Family Story Wall" I have loved coming across cute and creative ways to remember our life together.

I absolutely LOVE Young House Love and a while back, they showcased some of the ways they showcase their memories...so I will share them with you!

This wedding shadow box is such a cute idea...they took special keepsakes from their wedding and placed them in a special keepsake box to remember them by! Adorable!

I love this idea and Husby and I have started collecting photo strips when we are at fun locations, or just for the heck of it!
I love how they use just a plain cup to keep them in, to browse through on occasion!

Another they way use them is by framing them. Probably something I will add to our "Family Story Wall."

I also love their little collection of chopsticks from favorite Sushi locations...

And how they mail a postcard to themselves when they travel...oh memories...

This is a great idea too. A little keepsake mason jar from little trips they have taken together.

I love this calendar idea. They choose phrases and jokes that meant something to them and created a calendar to remember them. Each month there is a special little giggle when they take a look at the calendar.

I love these framed keys from all their houses and homes...what a great memory. Another idea for the "Family Story Wall."

Such great ideas...just something little to remember life together. What great little treasures to pass on to your kids one day too!

How do you keep your memories?
