We got our IKEA GORM Series shelving...finally...all for around $200!
So now it was time to paint. Husby thought it would be a good idea to prime first, since the wood was just sucking up all the white paint I was putting on it. So we primed...and primed...
...and primed...and primed...
...finally it was time to start installing them. sheeeessshhhh
...and still more installing...Husby kept saying "Man, I wish I could use my drill!!"
Then it was time to move them all into the Pantry...we moved ever so slowly, holding our breath, hoping it would fit...
uh-oh.
Yeah, so we had to take the small end piece off...because we got it in the room...but then we couldn't get the corners to meet. I only laughed a little bit.
We let the dogs in to wander around. They rarely get to come downstairs now because there is so much laying on the ground, and they basically just lower there heads, open their mouths and drag their tongues across the floor like dingleberries. haha.
They approved of the newness. :)
So, we did the smart thing next and added the safety brackets. You like how we find studs. Yep, just drill a bunch of holes till we get lucky. Yes, I know...there are stud finders, and yes, we built this wall ourselves so the studs should be every 16 inches...but well...it doesn't always work like that. At least not with us :P
Anywhoodle...look at it.
It's gorgeous.
Now I just have to paint it all white. Again.
We are ecstatic. I think it look amazing, and we have SO much space for stuff! So, what do you think?? Should I paint the screws, that are currently black, white too? I am using a semi-gloss white paint, for easier cleaning.
Now, all we have to do is finish the window, paint the other side of the rooms base trim, move the freezer back in, then we can move ALL of the other stuff, that is currently crowding up our spare room, back into the NEW Pantry.
But there is no rest for the weary. We have exactly 8 nights to do all of the above, and paint our Master Bedroom...because next Saturday...we are getting NEW carpet!!
*sigh*
We'll be done soon right?! :/

Designing Quatrefoil
I am so into the quatrefoil design right now it's not even funny.
I plan to use it in my Pantry...similarly to how it was used over at House of Smiths.
I may use it ON the decor...like this plate made over at Tatortots & Jello

I do plan to make a fabric divider wall to hide the HVAC unit and water heater. Maybe I could just use quatrefoil fabric on the divider?

...I really want to put it on the walls...but I need a stencil. Jen from Tatortots & Jello has a downloadable version here. (like the one seen below)
Only problem is I would be painting the blue color as seen here, over white walls. But my walls are already "flagstone" grey. Ehhh. Maybe I can cut the stencil in a way to do it the opposite way??
Instead of cutting out the design myself, I could buy a stencil, from here. (as show below) But do I really wanna pay $25 for something I can cut out myself?

But a search on google for quatrefoil fabric comes up pretty blase...like these were the best two options that I saw...

Our new tile...
I know it's not the BEST picture...but this will give you an idea of what our new tile looks like! I LURVE it!!
That ground walked on US!
We wered owned last night...by our floors.
I guess it's our fault really. We didn't do the math. And yes, I do say WE here baby, because we both missed it till it was too late.
We trusted the word of someone, who may not have been our best choice. live and learn right?
What am I talking about?Allow me to explain.
We are so close to the end of our new pantry that I can smell it. Or maybe I still have the lingering scent of our ceiling paint in my nose from last nights painting...after all I was looking up most of the time, so I may have some paint up my nose. Or it could just be the fact that this paint...STUNK. I mean...it was...gross. I won't even get into what it smelled like. ewww.
Anywhoodle...we are almost done. Here's our Pantry To-Do List:
BUT...I am getting ahead of myself...again. I do have a tendency to do that!
Last night. Here is what we were met with...our floors after we ripped up the old tiles.
We were gonna lay the new 18x18 tan laminate tiles we bought. Well Husby bought them and ON SALE I might add...I was such a proud wifey that day!
We had 19 tiles. Our room is 8x11 (with about a 4x3 chunk taken out for the HVAC unit and water heater.) If you math geniuses are calculating it right out there, then you are correct. 19 tiles was NOT going to cut it.
Ooops.
Yeah well. We are nothing if not a little hasty when it comes to certain decisions.
Husby and I set downstairs last night to paint thestinky ceiling and lay the tiles. When I looked at the room and the size of the tiles and asked again, "How many tiles did you buy?" My not-so-math-oriented-mind started telling me we didn't have enough. So I asked, "are you sure this is enough?" I was met with a little opposition and defense...and was told that so-and-so said it would be enough. Hmmmm. I wasn't convinced, especially after doing some quick math on the calculator. BUT...we pressed on.
ehhhhhhh....
We even came up with a plan to just use the 19 tiles we had and make a trim of those tiles around the edge of the room...since we obviously were short on tiles. grrrrr. But the more I thought about it...that was just going to look ghetto. Husby could tell what I was thinking and just finally asked "What are you thinking? If we need to pull these up and get new ones, speak now." So I spoke. And he agreed. We pulled up the 5 tiles we had already glued down.
yeah, yeah I hear ya...took us long enough right?!
Well...at least we TRIED to make it work. (thanks Tim Gunn)
We were owned. We let our excited and hastiness get the better of us and we lost.
HOWEVER I would say that after this mornings quick trip to Lowe's to get the 40+ tiles we needed, yes I said 40+. I am more in love with this new tile than what we originally purchased. (those 19 tiles we kept though...we figured we could use in them in the floor of the basement closet, where there will be plenty of tiles for the space we need to cover.) *sigh*
We picked out a more slate tile look this time, that I think goes great with the grey color on the walls! *clearing throat* Excuse me the , Flagstone paint color by Olympic bought at Lowe's. (hey I gotta try...maybe we can get sponsored! haha)
So...all in all...while about 45 minutes was wasted, we are happier now with the tile choice. Husby, his Dad and a friend are at the house now laying the tile. Hopefully he will shoot me some phone pics so I can show you too!
Home Improvement...where there's always a lesson or two to be learned! :)

Pantry progress...
The pantry...dun dun dunnnn...
It's almost done.
We have insulated, hung drywall, mudded, primed and painted one coat. We still need to paint one more coat, lay the flooring and complete the window. Then. We are done. Except for like the stuff that goes in there. More to come on that later.
Check out the progress...
The beginning. Framed out and start of drywall...

The color is Flagstone by Olympic (at Lowe's) I got the paint color idea from my Pantry muse over at House of Smiths. I am pretty much bitin' off this pantry...even the quatrefoil design! So excited! It just looks pretty and...I LOVE it!!!
More pics to come...when I can move my arms to paint more tomorrow! haha!

It's been kinda slackery around here...
I know. I do HAVE blogs, promise!! I just need to finish them.
I have actually had a pretty packed week at work, so no bloggy time there...and home?
Well...let's just saywe Husby has been busy at work trying to finish our Pantry downstairs so we can move all of our storage from the spare room, back downstairs before we get new carpet on "new-carpet-day!"

Also...as promised I will have the video of the "homemade pore strips" very soon and much more!! So...just gimme a hot second...or minute...or maybe a couple of days...heeehe :)

I must do this!! I MUST!
What are your thoughts?! Seen any other beautiful pantries lately?? I can't WAIT to finish mine!! More details on that coming soon!!
