The Martha Stewart Show - I was on TV!

So long story short...on a whim one day I went and requested tickets to the Martha Stewart Show online...and well low and behold I got them! I got so giddy and called my girl Britt and told her the good news! "Don't schedule anything on December 8th! We are going to NYC for the day to see MARTHA!"

It's not like either of us are CRAZY Martha fans, but we are crafty and we love NYC and who doesn't wanna be on TV!?!?!

So we got up BEFORE the butt-crack of dawn and drove to the city...

We walked around a bit and froze our tails off waiting in line for an hour-and-a-half...

This is when we were first in line and REALLY excited...that excitement waned a little bit as we began to freeze...

Then we finally made it inside, and wouldn't you know we were #'s 19 & 20 when it was all said and done...we missed being the 1-15 that got to sit on the floor, but as you will see from photos later, those weren't the best seats in the house...

This is Joey...the "Warm-Up Guy." He did his job well and was a hoot! This is Joey telling us wink, wink about all our giveaways!!! YIPPEEEE FREE STUFF!!

Then it was show time and we got hustled upstairs and into the studio!

All of Martha's crew was hustling and bustling around doing pre-shoots and stills and working on the lighting, etc. The studio was very nice...

There were screens for us to watch the show on and lights hanging from EVERYWHERE...

Then, we had to put the camera away for the show taping...We got to see Lucy Liu, and how to make Persimmon Pudding, and Leather Bracelets and Photo Ornaments and Gift Tags and how to make Tuna Tar-Tar...we got a pudding steamer bundt pan, a cookbook (gigantor) and some preserves all for FREE :) Yeah for giveaways!

Then after the show as question and answer time...and here's MARTHA...

We had such a blast being there!!

And just check out Martha...those heels!!! She rocked them like a champ!

So that's it...that was our day at the Martha Stewart Show...and BOY what a blast it was!! You should totally go request tickets, it's much easier than you think!! We are going to try and go again next year too!!

I nearly died.

I have decided that Brittany (Heather Morris) from GLEE is my favorite character.

Her one liners from this weeks episode had me in stitches.

Brittany: “I don’t wanna do Britney”
Kurt: “Why no Britney Brittany?”
Brittany: “cause my name is also Britney Spears”
Brittany: “My Middle name is Susan, my Last Name is Pearce… That makes me Brittany S. Pearce. Brittany Spearce.

Brittany: “I don’t brush my teeth, I rinse my mouth out with soda after I eat.”
Brittany: “I was pretty sure Dr. Pepper was a Dentist”

Brittany:
“Please don’t pull out my teeth, when I smile I’ll look like an adult baby but with boobs”

Brittany: “Looks like a Jewish cloud”

That's some funny stuff right there. And I think she did Britney Spears proud this week.

What did you think of the episode?

Another one bites the dust...

I've been following this story.

I watched about 3 of their episodes on TV. It followed them and their life with sextuplets.

...to be honest, they looked like they were headed for trouble then.

More recently stories have been circulating about Bryan being arrested for domestic violence and resisting arrest.

It seems from some of the articles I am reading that they were kind of fishing for TV spots (Deal or No Deal, Proposing on national TV at a Diamondbacks game). Not sure why, as it didn't work out too well for the Gosselins.

Well, now it's not working out for them either...

Jennifer has filed for legal separation/divorce from Bryan after the recent arrest.

It's very sad to see. You have to wonder if the issues were there before or if letting all of America in on your life like that could lead the downfall of a marriage. I wonder if she will follow in Kate's steps and raise the children on her own?

Thoughts?

LOST...the end of a Era

Well, it's over.

LOST.

I have been a Fan from the beginning.

I must say after watching the Finale...I was a bit...confused, but overall satisfied.

What were your thoughts??

MAJOR FINALE SPOILERS...READ AHEAD AT OWN RISK...!!
YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

Here are my thoughts...about the Finale.

I think that everything that happened on the Island was real. I think they crashed, some survived, some died, some got off the island and some came back. I think that everything that happened off the island in this last season...was an alternate reality, or the purgatory waiting room of sorts for those that had already died. I think once they all died, they gathered there and proceeded to Heaven together...or some other better place.

I think as far as the light goes...Desmond uncorked the island, making it possible for all the rules to be broken. The Man in Black could be killed now, and Richard could start aging, etc.

I think once Jack put the cork back in, he fixed the island, then leaving Hurley and Ben in charge to protect the island. Then he died once he saw that the plane had taken flight...and they were headed home safely.

I think in the end the LOST story was about the faulty characters finding Love and Redemption in their own time lines...even if only in the alternate reality/purgatory.

Sure, we may never understand why the island had powers like it did, or why the Man in Black was also a big cloud of smoke, etc...but I just chalk all that up to the fact that LOST at it's core was straight Sci-Fi.

So that's it...my theory...albeit simple and short.

What's your theory?? I'd love some dialogue about this!

I'm LOST.

April writing...

At least I hope to be lost in LOST tonight! That may take some convincing on Husby's part though. He is NOT a fan of the show at all. I have tried and tried to convert him, but no luck!

I have so many unanswered questions, don't you? Like I need to know...who is GOOD and who is BAD? They have been playing with us on this subject the whole time!

Why doesn't Richard ever age? Same with Jacob? Although there are many questions regarding Jacob.

Why is it that all of these people ended up on the Island? They are hinting to the fact that it has something to do with Jacob's touch...he visited Kate early on in life!
(you can watch the enhanced episodes, (like watching pop-up video on VH1 years ago!) it gives alot of insight!

Will Charlie be back? What about Claire?

And what's the deal with Jack's Dad...who is also Claire's Dad!?

And of course the ever important question. Will Kate end up with Jack or Sawyer?

I mean I know I am pulling for Jack.

Cause I really LOVED Sawyer and Juliet together...but is Juliet alive?!?!

Didn't she detonate the bomb? Or did they want us to think that?!

I have a ton of questions, but who doesn't!?

And then there are all the connections and possible connections!

It's gonna be awesome! I can't wait!! What are your LOST questions?!

Kings TV Show

April writing...

I finally watched the two-hour premier of Kings' on NBC last night. Wow. I loved it. The storyline and characters instantly drew me in...but more importantly...the biblical connection played out in prime time TV...was very exciting.

Here are some interesting points I have found while reading about the show and it's connection to the bible:

In the Bible - David is chosen by the prophet Samuel to succeed Saul as the King of the united Israel instead of Saul's son, Jonathon. King Saul was from the Benjamite tribe in the bible.
On TV - we have seen so far that the Rev. Eprham Samuels visits David Shepherd, thus starting a whirlwind of events leading him to working with King Silas. King Silas has a son...named Jack Benjamin. (see the last name...a reference to the tribe of King Silas)

In the Bible - David is described as having seven brothers and a father, Jesse. David was a shepherd.
On TV - Davis has six brothers and his Mothers name is Jesse. Also, his last name is Shepherd.

In the Bible - Goliath is a Philistine giant whom David takes out with a stone and a slingshot.
On TV - Goliath is a war tank, whom David takes out with a shoulder-fired rocket.

Other connections - TV version actually combines two stories about David, showing him saving the king’s son, Jack, from enemy nation Gath while slaying the Goliath tank, which were separate events in the Bible.

Conflict with the King – Just as in the Bible, Kings’ David eventually finds that his fame and influence over the people will lead King Silas to move against him.

So...it will be interesting to see where this story takes us...as those of us have read the bible...and are more than likely very familiar with these stories...we already have an idea of what's to come...the interesting part will be to see it played out on TV.

Hope you will be watching. You can catch up on the past episodes here. Watch the upcoming shows, Sundays at 9:00 pm Eastern on NBC.

There were many other undertones and things to catch, such as God's annointing being played out as a crown of butterflies on David's head. (thanks Sarah!) What were your thoughts on the first two episodes? Did you see any other fun tidbits?
