Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day

Please remember why this day is important. It's not just about Hamburgers, Hot Dogs and Picnics...it is a Day of Remembrance in honor of all of those whom have died in service to our Country.

You think I'm driving him crazy yet?

Sweet Puppies

You know...for as much as they can annoy the life out of me, and drive me crazy with their antics...these are some pretty great pups. There are plenty of sweet moments...when they get along and cuddle...or when they do what they are told, the first time (training for kids or what ehh?!) When Pickle does whatever he can to get to Dad's face when he's napping on the couch to give him kissies. Or when Olive snuggles at my feet and won't move, even if I need to get up.

Great, great pups.

I'm Lovin' It

haha. So this is a little post...a tiny offering of what I am lovin'! Enjoy and accept my apologies...I forgot to plan this post this week!! Edit- then when I published it I forgot to schedule it for Saturday morning like usual...so my bad on that...Some of you will see this before Sat am, even though the date states otherwise! Anywho...on with it!

This is a super cute idea...I'm lovin' the big flower!

(image courtesy of Make it and Love it)

And I think this is a really cute idea for a craft room or a kids playroom, maybe even a project the kids can get it on!!

What are you lovin' this week??

My Husband Rocks Friday

My Husband Rocks...and here's why...so Husby has a new endeavor...

He is taking up the guitar.

He isn't naturally musically inclined, but I am hoping he will have great success with this. He is one of the most driven people I know; so I do think he will do just fine.

I kinda have sweet thoughts of me picking up the piano again and we can play together...ohhh weee, so fun!!

Garden goodies...

Just wanted to share some of my goodies, growing so big and beautiful!

(this post is heavy on the pictures...you'll either love it or hate it...)

Here are my green bell peppers...with a sweet little flower on it!

Here is one of my free Arbor Day Foundation trees...I have no clue which one it is yet!! ha!

Some of my Hen'sNChicks. Love these!

My Marigolds...which are currently looking a little dry...I should water them! :P

These are some fun little leftovers from my Clematis!

My pretty orangey-yellow Stella De'Oryo's! (sp?)

My Raspeberry Parfait Hydrangea...I may be getting some blooms this year! Fingers crossed!

Some of my planter perennials...they remind me of Pansy's.

A close up view of one of my Verbasum mix flowers. Cory thinks they look like weeds, well the bottom half at least...

Sweet Columbine flowers...this one is almost done blooming.

These Lillie's are about to POP!!!

A view of the front of the house...All my pretty plants in bloom. It makes all the hard work from last year totally WORTH it!

You see my sweet Hollyhocks there on the left...

How about a close up? I am just so proud to have grown these beauties from seeds. They are so pretty!! Although QUITE tall! :P They will be finding a new home after blooming season.

How's your garden looking? Excited about any new plants??

one...genius...idea

This...is an AWESOME idea.

I saw it over at Kelly & Olive.

So, have you ever had trouble deciding where to drill or hammer the hole for mounting a picture?

This idea is GOLDEN...

Take a ruler or a paint stick...screw a screw halfway through it like this...

And it will look like this from the front...

Then you take your picture and hang it on the screw front...then hang your picture on the wall like this...

When you have it set...just push against the frame to make a small hole in the wall...at the exact place where should put your nail or screw.

Waahhh-laaahhh!!!

Genius I tell ya!!

Our Poisonous Garden?

My friend TT, got me a beautiful Foxglove plant for me, for my birthday. I love foxgloves, but had never purchased one for myself.

These are the above mentioned Foxgloves... :)

I had always heard that they were poisonous to animals, i.e. Cats, Dogs, Rabbits, etc. I can't say I am not too worried about cats, as they don't usually enter my backyard (we have a 6 foot tall privacy fence and two cat-hating dogs, so they don't take their chances.) The neighborhood cats DO like to poop randomly in our front gardens, ick...but they haven't been as bad this year. As far as rabbits are concerned, they are everywhere around our neighborhood, but like the cats, they don't cross into dog territory.

However...I worry about the DOG factor. I have two dogs...that love, LOVE, LOVE their backyard. They love to munch on the grass, but I have never seen them show any attention to any of the other plants in the backyard.

So I didn't think I wanted to take my chances with the planting the Foxgloves in the backyard. So I decided to do a little research today. I was surprised to find that 7 of the 13 plants we currently have growing in our backyard are considered poisonous to dogs:

Morning Glory - Clinical Signs: Gastrointestinal upset, agitation, tremors, disorientation, ataxia, anorexia. Seeds may cause hallucination, may cause diarrhea.

Peony - Clinical Signs: Vomiting, diarrhea, depression

Wisteria - Clinical Signs: Vomiting (sometimes with blood), diarrhea, depression

English Ivy - Clinical Signs: Vomiting, abdominal pain, hypersalivation, diarrhea. Foliage is more toxic than berries

Hydrangea - Clinical Signs: Vomiting, depression, diarrhea. Cyanide intoxication is rare – usually produces more of a gastrointestinal disturbance.

Hosta - Clinical Signs: Vomiting, diarrhea, depression.

Foxglove - Clinical Signs: Cardiac arrhythmias, vomiting, diarrhea, weakness, cardiac failure, death.

So my thoughts? It's really on the Foxgloves that scare me a little...seeing as how they are the only ones mentioned to possibly lead to DEATH; also seeing as how the other 6 plants have been in the backyard now for 1+ years with no issue...I think I am safe with just planting the Foxgloves out front and proceeding with new backyard plants with caution.

Who knew a pretty garden could impact my furry little friends so much.

New Cam - Snapshots

Here are some of my favorite pictures from my first day and half with my new camera...whom I am calling "Bonita." Cause she is soo purdy.

Anywho...here's my Pickle-Bear...playing around in the backyard...

This is a great shot of my new foxgloves (given as a gift for my birthday from my favorite TT and Mr. B, and Andrew!)
Notice Pickle in the background?

This is one of the trees outside my office building at work...it was a gorgeous day today!

This was me most of the evening last night...reading my manual...lots of info here!!

Here's Husby trying to plug in the address for our dinner last night...I  love how crisp this photo is...

My dinner last night...it was YUMMY!

I was messing around with shutter speed last night and caught Olive in a disappearing act!

This was the sky today. So pretty and blue!

So those are just a few of my favorites. I still feel like I have  NO clue what I am doing...but I am soaking in all the reading that I can...and looking to schedule some online photography courses as well!!

She wants to PUMP you up!

This video is just too cute...

We should all pump ourselves up this way each day!

Ooopps.

Ragamuffin Soul shared a story on his blog today. It's pretty hilarious. Check it out.

In the jungle, the mighty jungle...

Wanna buy a house in the jungle?

What about a jungle in a house?

What's that growing on the walls? Is it fake? Maybe a little added greenery decor?

Oh no...it looks REAL...and oh my...there's more...

My goodness...it's spreading like a bad rash...a really bad rash...

AHHHHH!!!! What in the WORLD??

*Also...please take note...they took the time to make the stairs two different colors of carpet. Classy touch.*
**if you have two different color carpets on your stairs...then please take no offense, I am sure that it's just because this house did that AND added greenery everywhere that made is look so bad...promise. :)

Seriously? You're trying to sell your house like THIS?!?!

You have to walk through a forest to get to the dining room!!

Who does this?

Thanks to Hooked on Houses for sharing!

LOST...the end of a Era

Well, it's over.

LOST.

I have been a Fan from the beginning.

I must say after watching the Finale...I was a bit...confused, but overall satisfied.

What were your thoughts??

MAJOR FINALE SPOILERS...READ AHEAD AT OWN RISK...!!
YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!!

Here are my thoughts...about the Finale.

I think that everything that happened on the Island was real. I think they crashed, some survived, some died, some got off the island and some came back. I think that everything that happened off the island in this last season...was an alternate reality, or the purgatory waiting room of sorts for those that had already died. I think once they all died, they gathered there and proceeded to Heaven together...or some other better place.

I think as far as the light goes...Desmond uncorked the island, making it possible for all the rules to be broken. The Man in Black could be killed now, and Richard could start aging, etc.

I think once Jack put the cork back in, he fixed the island, then leaving Hurley and Ben in charge to protect the island. Then he died once he saw that the plane had taken flight...and they were headed home safely.

I think in the end the LOST story was about the faulty characters finding Love and Redemption in their own time lines...even if only in the alternate reality/purgatory.

Sure, we may never understand why the island had powers like it did, or why the Man in Black was also a big cloud of smoke, etc...but I just chalk all that up to the fact that LOST at it's core was straight Sci-Fi.

So that's it...my theory...albeit simple and short.

What's your theory?? I'd love some dialogue about this!

Mother's Day

Better late than never??

Here's Mom...HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY pretty lady! :P

...and yes, she's cooking...she can't help it.

Here's me and Husby...excited for the yummy meal!!!

Me and Beks ate teddy-bear cookies. Head first. We roll hard like that.

For lunch...we enjoyed some of Dad's grill wonders!

...and for dinner, with Husby's side of the family...I had some of these little babies.

It was a great day with Family...even if I blogged about it a little late :P
