What Inspires You? - Part 5
Today, I am inspired by Husby. Who did you think I would talk about on a Friday?! :) I am inspired by his drive. The man just gets stuff done.
Seriously.
There are times when he heads downstairs to "clean up" and within an hour he has the place spic-n-span (well spic-n-span for the basement at least.)
Me? I can't finish a job like that very quickly. I get sidetracked, start doing three things at once, get overwhelmed and give up. ha!
He just has such a drive to get things completed. And that inspires me. Babe, you rock!
What's inspiring you today? Have you like the series? I hope it's challenged you to get inspired!!

My Husband Rocks Fridays
My Husby Rocks this Friday because, he stayed ALIVE this week. We had a very interesting week, Husby is still recovering, and although I am playing nurse to a somewhat stubborn wittle'man...I wouldn't change it for the world. Husby is alive and well and still here with me. Thank you for being so strong this week babe...you rock!
143. Mostest infinity.
So tell me, how does your Husband Rock this week?

Union 28 Review & Giveaway - The Return of My Husband Rocks Fridays
*This Giveaway is CLOSED*
About two-and-a-half years ago I started "My Husband Rocks" Fridays. I loved doing it. It was a great way to boost up Husby and to shout to all the world how MY HUSBY was the best. Recently I found out just how much it meant to Husby, especially how much he had missed it. Yeah, I started slacking and missed a few weeks...ok, ok, my last post was in June 2010. My bad babe...it's not because you stopped rocking...by no means!
When I found "My Husband Rocks Fridays" I also found Union28 Marriage Apparel.
This company is amazing. Their message about supporting "Husbands," "Wives," "Dads" and "Moms" is completely worth supporting! Their mission is "to encourage marriages and to honor the sacred covenant between a husband and his wife by communicating a positive image of marriage in a fun and stylish way." Union 28's has a line of clothing with trendy, cute sweatshirts and t-shirts for adults and children. I am showcasing the Pink "My Husband Rocks" Ladies Cut Tee. There's no better way to shout out...that my Husby is the best. It's a great shirt too. So soft. And fits great! I can't wait till I lose a little more weight and can move to a more fitted version. I may just jump it up a bit with the Rhinestone shirt!
Union28 was amazing for helping me to show my Husby how much I love him!

It's been long enough and I think it's high-time I show him how great he is!
He takes me on great dates that would only mean alot to someone like me, like taking me to a flower nursery to peruse around.
He's a super hard worker...especially with this basement project.
He knows how to make me laugh...even though he thinks "his humor is lost on me."
Simply put, he's the best. I don't know where I would be without him. I love you babe, and I promise to never stop showing you and telling you that!

My Husband Rocks Friday
I know, I haven't done one of these in forever...but he still deserves the credit!

My Husby rocks...you see, this week he got a phone call, a invite to come in and have a meeting...with the Chief of Police for the County he works. *yikes* Needless to say he was a little nervous. Why? you ask? Let me jump back a little for ya...
You see about two weeks ago, he sent a letter up through the chain of command, letting them know that he was a volunteer Ambassador to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. About two years ago, he designed and put into action a new license plate available to any MD driver's who wish to support the NLEOM through vanity plates. That's when they made him an Ambassador. So far he has over 200 plates registered!! Well, more recently he was asked to be a part of a planning committee for the NLEOM's Gala to take place this Fall; and I mean a Gala...like with tickets costing upwards of $1000 each! Of course he jumped for the opportunity to be in such great company...any BOY is he!! Others on the committee during their first meeting were talking about knowing Joe Montana and others heads of Corporations like Target and such. He is too cute too...during the conference call he stayed completely quiet, I guess he felt overwhelmed. :)
Around the time of that call, it was suggested that any Officers, such as himself contact their chain of command to make them aware of their voluntary status with the NLEOM in case there would ever be a conflict of interest. So that's when he wrote the letter and sent it on up.
He hadn't heard anything until his phone call invite to meet with the Chief this week. So he got some information together and prepared for the meeting.
When he arrived the Chief came out and said, "I have two of the Majors in the office..." So Husby thought, 'oh ok, I will wait till they are done with their meeting...' Little did he know they too would be meeting with them! So he sat with three of the top 5 of his County Police leadership!
The meeting went great and he was asked to become the Liaison for the County Police to the NLEOM; which is gratefully accepted. You see, his County has always been involved in the NLEOM and the Chief has wanted to appoint a Liaison for a while, but had to find the right person, he couldn't just charge someone with the job, as it would be a volunteer position. (not holding any pay raises or special office, etc)
That's when Husby's letter fell into the Chiefs lap...he had found his guy.
I am just so proud of him. Husby cares so much about the Memory of Fallen Officers and has voluntarily stepped up to remember them through the NLEOM! Whether through the vanity license plates, attending Police Week and the Candlelight Vigil and now as the Liaison for the County. I couldn't be more excited for him!
I think this will open many doors for him and I am so glad!!
You ROCK sweets! Well done!!

My Husband Rocks Friday
My Husband Rocks...and here's why...so Husby has a new endeavor...
He is taking up the guitar.
He is taking up the guitar.

He isn't naturally musically inclined, but I am hoping he will have great success with this. He is one of the most driven people I know; so I do think he will do just fine.
I kinda have sweet thoughts of me picking up the piano again and we can play together...ohhh weee, so fun!!

My Husband ROCKS big time this week!
He has been hard at work studding-in our basement! And I mean hard at work. He was so sore last night. He is just as excited as I am to have our basement finished and he is doing his best to get it done; quickly, affordable, and just the way we want it!
Thanks babe for all your hard work...it has NOT gone unnoticed!

April writing...

My Husband rocks...as I have mentioned plenty of times before!! But this one...is kinda just for him.
Babe you ROCK! Thanks for working SO hard this past week, with all of the snow, the shoveling, the plowing! You did alot of back-breaking AND you went to work, to serve and protect our county! I am so proud of you and I am behind you every step of the way! Even if it means doing what some consider a mans job and shoveling when you are away, so you have a little less work when you get home! And thanks for the mornings when you let me sleep, and shoveled yourself...you didn't have to, but you did.
I love you and your outstanding work ethic...you are an amazing Husband, Friend and Role Model!
I love you!!
- How does YOUR Husband or Significant Other ROCK?? Share your story!

Husby rocks...

I know...it's not Friday, but I am going to brag on Husby for a moment...because he got me...
THIS!
Yep...that's right...I got a Wintercheck Factory "Julian Scarf" from Husby..."just because" (actually it was for Valentine's Day...but he couldn't wait to give it to me!) and I did not complain!
Here is a picture of it in action...don't mine whatever it is my hair is doing in this picture...or the big arm ever so slightly blocking the awesome scarf action! :P

My Husband Rocks Fridays

My Husby rocks this week because he got me my new phone!! (I know, technically it's our money paying for it....but still) He went through the trouble of calling Verizon and trying to go to bat for me to get it for free, he ordered it online and had it delivered as soon as possible to me at work; knowing how much I wanted to play with it NOW!
Thanks baby...you ROCK! :)

My Husband Rocks Friday
This week my Husby rocks because of his support. I am back on the diet and exercising train (yippee) and last night after dinner, while we were cleaning up he said this to me..."Babe just go ahead and plan dinners, make whatever you need to make to stay in your points or whatever. I will eat what you make. Don't worry about asking me what I want."
I just thought that was a really selfless thing to do. I told him that he could tell me when he had cravings for things enough in advance, so I could find healthy alternatives and he agreed to that. Aren't I nice too :P
Anywho...thanks sweetie for being so supportive, I know you know this is a battle for me...but the result will be worth it...in MANY ways :)

My Husband Rocks
Well...if I were honest I would say that there hasn't been some huge, life-changing, spectacular way that Husby had rocked this week...and I don't mean that in a bad, sad, neglected kinda way either...
So I am going to just simply state, that Husby you rock...because you are my bestfriend. No matter what. I am glad that I can always depend on you...marriage is great if for no other reason than to live with your bestfriend everyday :)

I know it's been a while...and it wasn't for any "lack of rocking" on Husby's part...just an overall sense of slackery on my part.

My Husby rocks because he is a simple man. I mean that is the most sincere way possible too! I think we are both simple...simple like enjoying a quick bike ride or a slow walk with the dogs. Simple like enjoying leftovers for dinner, even though it's not his favorite. Simple in his expectations and desires.
We have a no-pressure, laugh-at-the-small-stuff, simple marriage. I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love you baby! YOU ROCK!

Not that anyone noticed or anything...but I almost missed my post today...(boy that would have ruined my 7 days of blogging goal...) and I cannot access my MHR logo...so here goes, let's just get down to it...the nitty gritty.
My Husby rocks...because he is comfortable. He's like...that old shirt that has been worn in just right, like the perfect pair of tennis shoes that never hurt your feet, the perfectly cooled house on a hot summer's day. He's like the perfect hug and a great hair day...he's the best slice of apple pie and that feeling when things just work out right...He is my comfortable.
Thanks babe for being juuuuusssttt right :)

My Husby ROCKS...because I LOVE talking to him and he makes it so easy. I am MOST proud of our level of communication within our marriage. I think we have quite simply found the KEY to respecting each other via good communication. Thanks for listening and talking...you ROCK sweetie!

My Husband ROCKS Friday
It's no secret. I think my Husby rocks...here's just another little reason why.
So I would say back in mid May we decided to start working out 4 days a week, then an opportunity came about for us to try out the new EA Sports ACTIVE Wii workout for FREE...and we HOPPED on that chance! Now we are working out two days on, one day off. So about 5 days a week. We love it...and we have both really been super supportive of each other!
Cory has been behind me 100%. And not just because it would equal a skinnier wife to look at...but I believe he truly wants me to be healthier as well as making himself healthier for many more happy years to come!
Thanks baby for supporting me...and understanding that my battle with weight goes sometimes deeper than even I realize. I love you and one day...we will look HOT on a beach TOGETHER :)

...for some reason I can't find the MHR logo...but I will blog anyways!
So my Husby rocks for taking SUCH good care of me today!
I had my Hysteroscopy today. We had to head into Rockville at about 10am this morning (about an hour away.) So, 20 minutes or so into our ride, Cory looks at me and says, "Am I turning red?" I look over to him and he is like sunburn red.
He was like breaking out in this little red bumps and his eye was super bloodshot. Immediately I wasn't nervous anymore and went into 'nurse' mode...and I am not even a NURSE!!

(These were all over him...and they kept multiplying!)

(even some old scars were popping up...perfectly WHITE!)
I got on the phone with our Doctor's office to let them know what was happening. They told us that he could take some Benadryl and that he would be ok. So we pulled over and got some for him...and boy did it help. Within 15 minutes he was feeling MUCH better!
So we make it to the Surgery Center and I get all prepped...I felt great...wasn't really nervous at all!!

(Here's what his color SHOULD look like...still wintry pale...although he will soon be TAN...stinking Cali boy! Just not ALLERGIC REACTION RED!!! haha!)

(I have never felt sexier!)

(and here I am post-op...flying high baby!)

Then, I came out of surgery...and I was STARVING. So they gave me some Ritz crackers...and uh, seriously. I have. never. had. such. good. crackers. They were amazing! Seriously. I kept telling Cory how GREAT they were...and then I got all giggly...like really giggly. haha! Cory was telling me that I needed to calm down or I was gonna be hurting haha. I blame it on the anesthesia...but it was a good laugh.
(and here I am post-op...flying high baby!)
So, as I mentioned earlier...Cory took care of me all day! Even after his own little adventure!!! Thanks baby for sticking with me during all this...I am sure we will be handsomely rewarded for our efforts VERY soon!
I LOVE YOU!!! (stay away from the penicillin!!)

My Husband Rocks Friday
My husband rocks because of all his hard work. He has done alot of the back breaking work to help with the new front planters at the house. We are halfway there...we got the edging added (last night at 9:30 pm) well in part to the lovely new light him and his dad added, we had ample light!
These are a few of the jobs progress pictures:
As you can see from that last picture, all the edging is up. (no, it's not crooked there on the left hand side...it's just the angle of the picture...I think haha!)
We have one more half to go. Cory has planned on renting a sod-cutter to pull up the grass so we can use it in some bare spots in the backyard. Then I can plant!!!
Thanks baby for all your hard work...it's totally going to pay off and we are really going to have some CURB appeal when all is said and done. I could not have done it alone!! (well it would have taken me forever!!)

My Husband Rocks Friday
My Husby Rocks because, somewhere in there he IS willing to change and "work on" himself. I have one stubborn husband...some of you know this as well as I do. Lately I have seen a willingness in him to make some changes. To realize that he doesn't have his act together like he once may have thought he did...(who does really? We are all a work in progress...) and it's important to realize that none of us have "arrived" yet, especially in relationships!
Baby, I thank you for being willing to work on being a better husband!! You are still rocking, and I will always love you!
